Jefferson City,Tennessee

Sunday
We drove down to the small community of New Market to see what it had to offer. Its just one of those small places on one of the roads that use to be the main road before those super highways were built.
We saw this nice grand old house and a couple of old churches. This is what we look for when we are in an area for a week or so. There is so much to see on the backroads of America.
Yesterday we went to look at the Glenmore Mansion. It wasn't open,so we just looked at it from the outside.
The old hand pump over the well.
Another pump, that is a crank type that I have never seen before.
We drove through Jefferson City.  This is where Carson-Newman College is located.
It has some old buildings that we like to look at. Click on the photos to make them larger.

We picked up a few things we needed while we were out. I also filled up the tank on the car at $3,33 a gallon. I know that price will be going up soon.
We had a nice short day out looking around.
Thanks for stopping by.
