Friday we did get to the USA Flea Market.  Nancy got a few things and I bought some aaa batteries.  The guy that has the vinyl place was closed.  I kind of had my doubts on weather the batteries would be any good so when I got home I checked the voltage on them and the voltage was 1.77 ,so that was good on batteries that are suppose to have a voltage of 1.5.  Nancys back is giving her problems and it is probably due that she can't take any of her medicine until after she has the operation to raise her droopy eye lids.
Yesterday I went back to the flea market and bought the vinyl that I needed to finish up the florida room.  I got to watch my college basketball games.  I also got to grill some steaks that were in the freezer for a good while.  They turned out good and with the baked potato and salad made us a good tasting dinner.

More Vinyl

Yesterday I put more new vinyl in the Florida room panels.  I thought I had enough to do all of it,but on close inspection of the other section I still need to get enough for three more panels. I've renewed eight panels plus one door.
So that means another trip to the USA Flea Market today to get the vinyl.  The hardest part of the job is being down on my knees to cut and install the vinyl in the panels. It would be easier if I had a large table to do this, but you got to do with what you have.
At 4:50pm yesterday we with some of the other folks on the park gathered outside to watch Discovery on her last mission.  We were dissapointed in that we did not get a clear sky to see the lift-off.  It had been a nice clear blue sky all day long up until that time.
After that we got time to take a short walk around the park.  It has been around two months since both of us has felt good enough to do any walking.  I think we have gotten over the "bug" that was bothering us.

Walk in the Park

Yesterday Nancy and I got a chance to go down to the John Chesnut Park in Pinellas County.  It was a nice day with the temp near 80°.
Come and go with us as we walk through the park.

The first thing was Tarpon Lake with its cool breeze, that felt good on a warm day.
Upon gazing out on the water we saw this aligator which looked to be 5-6 foot in length.
Of course there is always a squirrel.
This cardinal wasn't a bit shy as it let me get within 4 feet of it to take a couple of snap shots.
No it wasn't scared it was the wind blowing that raised the feathers on the crown.
A couple of the 5 deer we saw.
Even the turtle was at rest in the sun.
It was really nice to get out and get our walking in for the day.

Yesterday was Sam and Carolyns last day here.  So with them packing everything and getting ready to leave this morning Nancy had them a dinner which they enjoyed very much.
We spent the day hanging out around the house without going anywhere so nothing new to report.
Nancy is trying to get the hang of her new netbook she bought monday.
We have had the MSN Webtv for so many years I can't even remember how long.

Week End

Sunday after church Nancy and I went to Christo's for dinner.  This is the first time in a long time that we have eaten at Christo's.  Whenever we eat out on Sunday's its usually breakfast as we like breakfast.
Yesterday I put new vinyl on the door of the Florida room.  There are two doors and one of them we never use, thats the one the vinyl went on.
After that we went to the new Save A Lot store.  Then it was to Walmart to get most of the groceries.  Rest rest of the evening we just relaxed.

Sunny Day

Yesterday Sam and Carolyn wanted to go down to Fred Howard Park so we loaded up and drove down.  This is a very nice park and Pinellas County doesn't charge like Pasco County does.  Of course by trying to make a little money the county is knocking the business people out of business as we  ate dinner inTarpon Springs, which is also in Pinellas County after an afternoon in the park.

Sam and Carolyn sitting on the bench enjoying the sand and water.

The palm trees waving in the breeze every now and then.

There was a large crowd there yesterday.
An idea day for sailing.  I think it is amazing how the city and county government seems to come up with ideas to make money and actually loose money on their bright ideas.  The temps for this week are suppose to be in the high 70's.

To the Ophthalmologist

Yesterday Nancy went to the ophthalmologist to get her eyes checked.  When we had our glasses made the optometrist told her she she have her eyes checked because he saw some cataracts forming.  Upon the ophthalmologist checking he did say she had small cataracts but that they were of no issuse and he saw no need to do anything with her eyes.  He also told her to use eye drops because she had dry eyes and that may be most of her problems.  She was relieved to her that.
While Nancy was seeing about her eyes I got tired of sitting so I had to get up and out to do some walking.  I always carry my camera so I took some photos of whatever was around.

The trees along the building of the Rowan Eye Center.
Just like a new born babe this new leaf coming out is nice and red.
Cut brush,to long left beside the road.
Gopher turtle coming from a building next door.
About the time the gopher turtle was close to his underground home it noticed me,so he stopped and posed for a picture.  That is until I moved then he mad a mad dash to get home.

Got to walk

Yesterday was spent waiting on the insurance guy.  Not all day but the biggest part of the morning and afternoon. We grabbed a bite to eat ,then off we went.
We ended up with a cool walk along the river. It was nice to be able to get out to walk.  With both of us being down from a virus, its just been too long.  From there it was to three different stores to get the best bargain of things we needed, and a few little extra's.  By the time we got back home, put everything in its place it was almost time for me to watch a college basketball game. We were a little rushed the last part of the day and we don't like to be rushed.  I hope your day went well.

Who do you believe

If you are getting a Social Security check you know you didn't get another cost of living this year because the government says the cost of living has not gone up.  This morning on "Good Morning America" they reported how much everything is going up.  Are they reporting the true and our government is so much out of touch with reality or what?
One thing I do know is my life insurance wants an increase of 130%.  Needless to say I'm shopping around and this is hard to do at the age of 72 for life insurance.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day that we enjoyed very much withou really doing anything special.  We did out to the Kmart store to loaf a little bit.

Valentine Dinner

Yesterday I put new vinyl in the Florida room where some of the sections had shrunk and came loose.  That makes 5 sections that have been renewed and 3 more plus the door to go and they will all be good to go. By doing this not only does it look better but will help with the heating and cooling of the room.
Yesterday evening I took Nancy out for a Valentine's dinner.  We went to Niko's Place.  We have seen a crowd of people there each time we have drove passed it.  So we got to fined out why there is always a crowd.  The soup and salad bar comes with each meal also the dinner was fantastic.

Valentine Day

Yes its that time guys to get your sweety something.  In fact if you haven't  I guess if you wait later on today the candy will no doubt be 1/2 price.  Now how can she get mad with a guy wanting to get a bargin.
The week end was the usual week end, watching the college basketball games.
After church we to Caposey's for lunch with our friends Lee & Hazel,Sam & Carolyn.  We had a good lunch and better conversation while eating.
I had another solar panel come in friday, this one is an 80 watt panel.  This will give me a total of 135 watts of sun power. This is not near enough but a good start.  Now I've got to get busy making the mounting feet on them and getting them on top of the motorhome.

Cool enough for you?

Man will this cold-cool weather ever end, somebody report to the authorities this is Florida and its suppose to be warm here. Where is the global warming?
Yesterday Nancy and I got our haircut.  I bet you really wanted to know that didn't you?  We are just like two old folks trying to stay warm.  Nancy is feeling a lot better, not completely well but better.  I think it has been warm enough this season for us to visit the beach only a couple of times. Of course we still have a few months before we will be on the road again.  That is if the snow is all melted.  We won't go where it is snowing.

Beaufiful Day

It was a nice sunny day yesterday and the squirrels and birds were really eating up the bird seeds I had out for them.

At one time when I was out back all the birds began to sing at the same time.  Their song sounded so beautiful.

There are two of these painted buntings that come to eat the seeds regularly.

Big Rain

This big ugly bird was roaming around the lake yesterday before the rain.

I had to go out to buy some orange juice and I was hoping I would not get caught in the rain.
The dark coulds were coming over me on the way back home and it started to sprinkle rain.  I did make it home before the rain let go and came a down pour.  It rained hard and long for most of the night

Rain Again

It rained most of the day yesterday.  I watched a couple of college basketball games.
Then most like everyone else watched the super bowl.  It was a pretty good game.
I'm still in the planning stages of putting up my solar panel on the motorhome.  Trying to see which way and the wiring I'm going to use.

Yard Sales

Do you like to got to yard sales?  I don't go very often, but sometimes I like to get out and see what "deals" people have.  I've not been able to find that valuable painting or old vase that is worth a small fortune that you hear about every now and then that someone has bought that you hear about.

I did buy this little item that looked promising at a cheap [rice of $3.00.  When I got home I installed the batteries to see if I could pick up some traffic reports.  The only thing that I found out was that I know why it was in a yard sale.  I thought I would put it on here to let you know.  Now it could be that I'm not near one of those traffic towers but it didn't work out for me.  I will try it some more and if I do get it to work I will let you know. I didn't go myself Sam was with me and he found a few things that he bought. Nancy and Carolyn went shopping and bought a few things.
Today is college basketball for me all day long.

Just the normal things happening over the last few days.  Going and getting the cheap pizza from "Little Caesar's".  A bunch of computer time, probably more of that then a should have. But since we have had all this sickness not much that we have felt like doing.  Sure hope when we both fell good enough to get out and do something so I can take a bunch of photos.

Of course no need to tell you about how the gas prices are going up. Down here it went up 10 cents a gallon from one day to the next.  With the amount of traffic on the road it looks like people don't mind about the higher gas prices.  Of course we just have to drive our vehicles no matter what the price.

Ground Hog Day

Picture of newly installed rear sway bar stabilizer bushings.

Even though the sun was shining yesterday there was a cool breeze,so I thought it would be a good time to install the new rear bar stabilizer bushings.  These are the nylon bushing that I bought off of ebay. They where half the price of the Ford rubber bushings and should last as long as I have the motorhome. I had a little trouble with one of the bolts on one side and had to buy a tap to rethread the nut. Even with going out to Harbor Freight to get the tap it took me 3 1/2 hours to do.
It made me feel good when I checked with a Ford service place I called, they wanted $471.00 to do the repair.  Not bad for an old man.
I don't think the ground hog saw his shadow here in the Tampa area.  It has been cloudy all day long. So maybe our winter time weather is over.

Warming Up

The orange trees are full of their fruit.

The sky with sun and clouds, the temp in the 70's what more could you ask for to be happy. Today I will be getting my short pants out to wear again.  Its seems like its been forever coming but I know its just been a short while.
Nancy says she thinks she is feeling a little better and I sure hope so.  It was so warm yesterday that there were around 10 people in the pool.  Could it be our winter time is over?
